Newly refurbished venue, Shoreditch Platform, aims to take East London by storm with its unique design and quality new Presents series… ormerly known as Studio Spaces E2, Shoreditch Platform fi rst came into life at the end of last year as a venue and F trendy pay-as-you-go workspace defi ned by its unique fl oor-to-ceiling artwork. Having now ditched the latter function to focus on nailing the club game, the space has been loaded up with a Funktion-One soundsystem, custom- built DJ booth — housing a snazzy Formula Sound rotary mixer — and will soon see a new lighting rig fi tted too. But what about the music? Well, to make the most of the shiny new set-up, the venue is launching a new series called Platform Presents. “We wanted to showcase artists which were more forward- thinking,” explains Events Manager, Tom Lilly. “We can afford to be a little more creative bringing artists who haven’t played in London yet, or artists who would love to play all-night sets.
