Smith, Superintendent of Schools Subject: Recognition of Distinguished Hispanic Scholars WHEREAS, The Hispanic Alliance for Education recognizes Hispanic high school seniors who have been identified as Distinguished Hispanic Scholars through academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership; and WHEREAS, The Hispanic Alliance for Education has awarded scholarships to Distinguished Hispanic Scholars from each of our 26 high schools in Montgomery County Public Schools; and WHEREAS, Montgomery County Public Schools honors and supports the many contributions of Hispanic American students to our schools, our community, our state, and our country; and WHEREAS, The Montgomery County Board of Education continually celebrates Montgomery County Public Schools for holding a high standard of academic excellence and recognizing the outstanding achievements of Hispanic American students; now therefore be it Resolved, That on behalf of the superintendent of schools, staff members, students, and parents/guardians of Montgomery County Public Schools, the members of the Montgomery County Board of Education congratulate the recipients of the 2019 Distinguished Hispanic Scholars Awards.
