Miriam Pico & David Chown The Ramsdell Theater' a little night music' continues with a community valentine, a special weekend performance by vocalist, Miriam Pico and pianist, David Chown on Saturday February 16th, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. This romantic evening of music will feature David Chown on piano and Miriam Pico on vocals. David Chown has been playing piano professionally for over 25 years. He received a Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University in 1981, and a Bachelors of Music in piano Technology from Michigan State University in 1986. In between his college stints, David toured Europe for a year, playing concerts and in clubs. David’s performance credits include 3 years with the Grand Hotel Orchestra, 3 years at the Radisson hotel in Ypsilanti Michigan, 2 years at Mico’s in Traverse City, 12 years at the Grand Traverse Resort, and 2 years at Mountain Jack’s. David appears regularly at the Traverse City Golf and Country Club. In addition to solo piano concerts and club appearances, David leads a popular variety band, the “Lookout Cats”, which features some of Traverse City’s top musicians. He has released 6 CD’s on his own label. David’s latest CD, “S’Bout Time”, is a collaboration with singer Miriam Pico. It was produced at David’s Lookout Music Productions Studio in Traverse City. Joining David for this romantic musical evening on the Ramsdell Theater stage will be vocalist Miriam Pico. Miriam Pico is a talented singer/songwriter from Northern Michigan who has recorded three CDS over the past five years. She has won numerous first place awards in songwriting/talent competitions and has always received outstanding reviews of her music. In 2007, Pico won first place in Kawai's national Searching for a Star contest, having been chosen out of thousands of entries from all over North America. She was voted Northern Michigan's Best Solo Performer in 2011 and in 2006 by Northern Express voters. It will be a Ramsdell Valentine night of romantic melodies and songs for all with this Valentine performance .
