Press Release Blaupunkt focuses on youth marketing with MTV April 2007 New spots and “Pimp My Ride” sponsorship PI 5778e CM Si Expanded partnership on international airtime f Presented by Blaupunkt: “Pimp My Ride” f Some 30,000 commercials to reach 290 million households This year, Bosch subsidiary Blaupunkt plans to place a special accent on marketing communication for the “MTV generation”. As in years before, the path to this audience finds its way over an extensive partnership with the internationally active MTV, the music TV channel: Plans include two sea- sons with new commercials as well as a wider variety of activities that aim to cover not only Europe but the Asia-Pacific region as well. In the summer and fall of 2007, a total of 25,000 spots will be aired in Europe. On all stations belonging to MTV Networks Europe and MTV Rus- sia, Blaupunkt will reach some 150 million households in more than 50 dif- ferent countries. In the MTV Networks Asia with a total of ten countries from India to China and Korea on up to New Zealand and Australia, ap- proximately 5,000 commercials will enter into more than 140 million house- holds. A second focus is the almost legendary MTV shows entitled “Pimp My Ride”, “Pimp My Ride UK” and “Pimp My Ride International”. Blaupunkt’s involvement in the car-tuning series will be expanded on an international scale. This is how the brand does justice to the growing trend of customi- zation and has its finger on the pulse of the times. It takes advantage in particular of the identification potential of this series, which is so popular among the younger crowd. In the current season, Blaupunkt also appears as the “presenter” in all the episodes of “Pimp My Ride” aired all over Europe and Asia Pacific (www.pimpmyride.tv). In the shows, the very attention-getting use of products with the blue dot is an integral part of the MTV partnership as the “Preferred Supplier of the Pimp My Ride Shows”. Blaupunkt, a company belonging to the Bosch Group, is an internationally leading manufac- turer of driver information systems, car radios, car speakers and vehicle antennas. Blau- punkt has its main headquarters in Hildesheim, Germany, and maintains other production sites in Portugal, Hungary, Tunisia and Malaysia.
