Our Chaminade men’s basketball team is anxious and excited to return to the Lahaina Civic Center to participate in the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational! Last year was a historic one for us, as we did not play on Maui for the first time due to a new alignment in which we now play on Maui every other year . We enjoyed a new experience as we played in front of over 10,000 spectators in the beautiful Viejas Arena at San Diego State and McHale Center at the University of Arizona . We can proudly say that we gave them competitive games on their home courts . These games set the tone for a very successful season, which ended with us qualifying for and playing in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament . This was off the heels of our women’s volleyball team reaching the NCAA Division II West Regionals! This past August, back on our campus in Honolulu, we opened the doors to brand-new men’s and women’s locker rooms, which house all 10 of our NCAA Division II teams! It was the first time in Chaminade history that our student-athletes all had locker rooms . Their eyes were wide as they entered the beautifully constructed facility for the first time. The student-athletes, coaches, and especially athletic trainers were thrilled with the improvements and size of our new Silversword Athletic Training Center . This locker room/ athletic training facility is located just above McCabe Gymnasium . Our visiting teams will also enjoy using the locker rooms . The strides made in our athletics department over the past few years continue to be magnificent, and they happened because we are blessed to have generous and faithful supporters who believe in our program and vision . We have a supportive Board of Regents, and campus administrators who strive to make improvements at our university each and every day—not only for athletics, but for all student programs at Chaminade University . We will not rest on these accomplishments . There are still more goals to achieve, traditions to uphold, and lives to touch . We are doing it all at Chaminade! We are Chaminade on the Rise!
