Posters include promotional materials, bills, broadsides and placards. The original art collection includes paintings, drawings, engravings, etchings, lithographs, and woodcuts. Miscellaneous objects include three-dimensional objects such as buttons, ribbons, badges, tags, stickers, and puzzles. All the material relates to the Yukon and dates from 1828 to the present. Much of the material advertises events and activities. There are over 500 posters, 50 miscellaneous objects, and 50 original art items. The descriptions in the catalogue are organized by type: Miscellaneous Items, Original Art, and Posters. Within each category, the descriptions are filed according to their location codes. The location code is located in the right hand comer. The first letter of the location code indicates the type of material: O = Original Art, M = Miscellaneous Item, and P = Poster. e.g. 0-56 P-434 M-32 The location code is required to havç the item retrieved. Many of the items have been acquired as single, independent items. In some instances, an item may be part of a collection or fonds. In such cases, the provenance or collection name is given in the description. To view the related material, please see the fonds or collection description filed in the Reference Room. Subject Index The descriptions have been subject indexed according to the topics or names that relate to the item. Many of the items have two subject headings, usually a specific heading and more general heading. The subject index lists all of the headings and the location code of the description that pertains to that heading. Refer to the appropriate section to find the item in question. Title Index The title index allows access to the material based on the title of the description. The titles have been sorted alphabetically, and are followed by the location code. Refer to the appropriate section to find the item in question.
