group of 33 are a number of medals commemorating specific events in both Washington's life and the American Revolution, such as his taking command of the Continental Army, the battle at Trenton, and the surrender at Yorktown. The collection also includes several medals struck in Washington's honor by the Masons and other societies, and one produced in Paris during the Revolution at the order of the French philosopher and author, Voltaire.
