Many Blessings- Katie, Scott, and Grigor XOXO Katie & Scot Grigor Our FIrst meeting was a littleO awkward as we wereSt set up by Katie’s parentsy and her youngest sister, who Scott was coaching in tennis. At the time, Scott was teaching and coaching in North Dakota and Katie was living and working in Minnesota with no intentions of moving home. Katie came home for her sister’s tennis tournament and graduation, and her family was determined to introduce her to Scott. Little did we know that this meeting would change everything! We ended up sitting next to each other at the graduation party and talked all night. We discovered how much we had in common, how easily we could share our stories, and how much we made each other laugh. We ended up staying in touch and Katie eventually moved back to North Dakota to be closer to family. We were married a couple of years later. During the winter of 2017, we received word a family had chosen us to be a part of their lives forever. Then, in March of 2017, we got the call that a baby boy had been born. Little did we know the impact he would have on us. His fun, loving, smiling and energetic personality has been the perfect addition to our family. Now, it is our dream to not only grow our family, but to give him a best friend for a lifetime. Not only did we add Grigor to our family, we also added his Birth Mother and her family. We Love that we have been able to build an open & loving relationship together with them. (A ding to my p e s) Grigor Paul “Griggs” was born in march 2017. He joined our family at birth and has been a blessing ever since that day! We finaliazed his adoption on November 19th, 2017 in Fargo, ND for National Adoption Day. Grigor loves to play outside, sit at the table with us at dinner time (and any meal), and read books. He also loves spending time at our families’ lake homes in the summer. Recently, he has started to talk and repeat everything we do! Grigor loves his cousins, and we think he will be excited to add another member to our family of three. (Now, the real story according to me...) I make sure I keep them busy every day. I run around a lot, I like to climb on things, I like to eat, and I’m really good at making a mess. I think it’s good for them to stay on their toes, ready for my next move. My parents are “really” fun, but they’re not as “cool” as they think they are. That’s where I need a little brother or sister. My parents think they know all the rules, but we’ll be sure to show them the “REAL” rules of the house. We’ll not only become best friends, but we’ll keep mom and dad really busy. Trust me . I grew up in western North Dakota and attended a Catholic high school. I am the oldest of four girls and they are by far my best friends. I am extremely close to everyone of them, and we share lots of interests. My parents are two of the most supportive people I know and have been very supportive through my journey to become a parent. I attended College in Minnesota where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree. After college, I moved to Minneapolis where I worked in retail and eventually ended up in the advertising department for a major newspaper. After living there for FIve years, I met Scott and decided it was time to move back home to be closer to my family. In addition to spending time with Grigor, I enjoy reading and spending time at either of our families’ cabins, doing anything Artsy, and hanging out with my nieces and nephews. I also enjoy watching sports with Scott and Grigor and traveling to watch our favorite teams play! Hi, I’m Scott! 35 yrs old 6’0 Blue Eyes Brown hair Bachelors of arts: Business Education Masters: Coaching and athletic Administration Norwegian-German Energetic Funny Loving H e’s a li le bit ab t me....... I grew up in western North Dakota. I have two brothers (one older and one younger) and one older sister. My family is extremely close to each other and love spending time together. After high school, I stayed involved in sports at Minot State University where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree. I have recently continued my education by earning two additional Master’s degrees. I was blessed to get my first teaching job right out of college, and I am still in that same position today. I have found myself coaching multiple sports including football, track, basketball, and tennis. I love coaching these extracurricular activities because seeing students succeed both in and out of the classroom brings me great joy. In addition to spending time with Grigor, I love to golf, play tennis, basketball, softball, and mow the yard. Yes . mowing the yard is one of my favorite things. I can’t wait to be able to share my sports passion with our future children. I also enjoy time in the summer with our families at either lake home, and I am a huge Minnesota Twins and University of North Carolina Tarheel fan. O We ing Day After dating for a little less than 3 years, we got married in December of 2011. It was a snowless winter until our wedding day when we woke up to a large amount of snow and ice. We realized how blessed we were as so many people braved the North Dakota weather and nasty roads to celebrate our special day with us. We both pictured the perfect wedding, but our day was even beyond our own expectations. It was the perfect day with friends and family, dueling pianos, and most importantly, being married to our best friend. I am the oldest of four girls.Katie’s Two of my sisters Family live in the same area as us, and one lives a short drive away. All three of my sisters are married, and one has three children. They are the most precious mini humans, and we love getting the chance to babysit them whenever needed. they also love when “Griggie” comes to play as well. My 101 year old Grandpa (Gramps) lives close by us as well. He keeps a busy schedule, playing his daily cribbage game, beating everyone around him in pool, and entertaining his many guests. We love visiting him whenever we can-he loves to tell us stories! I have two brothers and one sister.Sco My sister lives ’s a few statesFamily away, but the rest of us are fortunate to live very close. Both of my brothers are married and we are lucky to have three of the coolest nephews around. My brothers and I are constantly together whether we’re golfing, playing softball, amateur basketball, or spending weekends at the lake. We love to take family vacations. our favorite vacation is spending Labor Day weekend in New York City attending the US Open tennis tournament. The values that are shared and passed down from my family are cherished and appreciated. I hope to pass them along!! Grig ’s Bir We knew the day was getting close, but the call came about a week sooner than we were expecting. As we prepared to head to the hospital, we were beyond excited but a little nervous about his arrival. We arrived at the hospital right at the end of the day and waited for the opportunity to meet Grigor. Reality hit at that moment with how blessed we had become as this sweet little baby had made us a family of 3!! We spent the next couple of nights in the hospital with this little baby trying to learn all we could about him and his birth family. With little sleep and lots of excitement, we made our journey home with the newest member of our family. Our parents and siblings were waiting at our house for the chance to meet little Grigor for the first time. Lots of smooches, hugs ,and snuggles happened that day(and everyday after…). We were excited to have been chosen to be his forever family and couldn’t wait to get started as parents! Best Day Ev .....
