When she married George Preston Cochran at 16 in 1898, they told her she could pick out anything from their house as a wedding gift; she chose a wardrobe which she kept for the rest of her life. The wardrobe eventually found its way to the kitchen as a pantry. George Preston Cochran was a magistrate and used one of the shelves for his business papers. Later, the wardrobe was given to Vivian C. Foster. Jerry L. Foster rebuilt and refinished the wardrobe and they consider it to be one of their prized possessions.
