8U ALLSTAR RULES PITCHING Only fastballs, knuckleballs, and straight change up pitches will be permitted. If the umpire rules that a curve ball was thrown, the pitch will be counted as a ball, the pitcher will be warned and any offensive play that occurred will be allowed to stand or be declared void at the option of the offensive team Manager. In the event the batter hit the ball and safely reaches base and the pitcher and coach will receive a warning. (Delayed dead-ball) A second occurrence in a game requires that the current pitcher be prohibited from pitching any more that day and the Manager will be ejected. Balks will not be called A runner may steal a base, but may not break contact with the base until the ball is released from the pitchers hand. If a runner leaves early, and the ball is not put into play the runner must return to the base. If a runner leaves early, and the ball is put into play, the runner is out. (Delayed dead ball) Each team will get only one warning per game. On the second or subsequent violation by any player on the same team, the runner will be called out. Home is open. Batters is automatically out on drop-third strike and all runners may advance at there own risk SCORING AND TIME LIMITS 8U will play 6 innings with no new inning after 1:30 The five-run rule will apply. No team may score more than five runs per 1/2 inning. There will be no five- run rule in the sixth inning or in any extra innings. In the sixth inning teams, can score 10 runs. There will be no declared last inning. If the hour team is behind by more than 10 runs in the 6th inning, they can continue to play for a tie. .
