HISTORY Arquitectonica was established in Miami in 1977 by Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear as an experimental studio. This firm has now grown to be a worldwide practice, with locations in places such as Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, and Lima. It has been named the AIA Florida Firm of the Year as well as the AIA Test of Time Award for the Banco de Credito headquarters. It has become a visual landmark due to its ten-story solar array cube. The center is divided into several themed areas: Science of Hockey, Dino Quest, Rocket Lab, Air & Space, Eco Challenge, Dynamic Earth, Quake Zone, and the Showcase Gallery which houses traveling exhibits. BUILDING DESIGN INTENTIONS The goal of this project is teaching children what life was like in Orange County in the 1900s and creating a world-class science center.
