IDRIS Center for Insect Systematics (CIS), School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, Selangor,43600, Malaysia Email: [email protected] Abstract.- This manuscript represents the identification of 7 species of Oedipodinae (Acrididae) under 6 genera, including Heteropternis sarimahii sp. nov. from Malaysia. Three species viz., Heteropternis respondens (Walker, F.), Pternoscirta caliginosa (Haan) and Gastrimargus marmoratus (Thunberg) are recorded for the first time from Malaysia. In addition, a key of the local genera has also been constructed. , Key words: Acrididae, Oedipodinae, new species, genetalia, epiphallus, Malaysia.
