Grill: 15 min. YIELD: 6 servings. Ingredients • 1/4 cup olive oil • 3 tablespoons lemon juice • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar • 2 garlic cloves, minced • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest • 1 teaspoon salt • 1/2 teaspoon sugar • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano • 1/4 teaspoon pepper • 1-1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-1/2-in. pieces • 3 medium zucchinis, halved lengthwise and cut into 1-1/2-inch slices • 3 medium onions, cut into wedges • 12 cherry tomatoes Directions • 1. In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; set aside 1/4 cup for basting. Pour half into a large bowl. Add chicken; turn to coat. Pour the remaining marinade into another large bowl. Add the zucchini, onions and tomatoes; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate chicken and vegetables for up to 4 hours or overnight. • 2. Drain and discard marinade. Alternately thread chicken and vegetables onto metal or soaked wooden skewers. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 6 minutes on each side or until chicken juices run clear, basting occasionally with reserved marinade. 2 Mifflinburg Area School District April 12, 2021 Congratulations to the student participants of the Region 5 National History Day Competition! Aubrey Fluman finished First and Clayton Groff Third in the Junior Paper category. Kirsten Kuhns and Ava Stephens finished First in the Junior Group Website category. An Honorable mention went to Seth Thomas and Logan Showers in the Junior Group Website category. Aubrey, Clayton, Kirsten, and Ava will compete at the State Competition in May. SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL NEWS WILDCAT TRACK TEAMS Last week, our Wildcat Softball Team took the win RUN AWAY WITH A WIN! over Milton with a score of 13-2! Nice job ladies! Earlier last week, our Wildcat Baseball Team topped Both our Girls and Boys Track Central Mountain with a final score of 11-7! Great job Teams won their first meet of guys! the Season against Shamokin Also, a baseball game between the Wildcats and the last week! Our Boys’ Team won the last event of the night, the Lewisburg Green Dragons was tied at 4-4 after eight 1600 relay to pull off the win of innings. The game will need to be finished at a later 80-70! Our Girls’ Team took the date. win with ease ending with a final score of 94-55! Great job! WEEK 5 RESULTS FROM THE SPRING INTO FITNESS CHALLENGE Many of our teams upped their step counts this week. Six out of our eight teams completed the water wellness challenge this past week earning them 10,000 bonus steps! Team Triumph moved up two places this week earning them the #2 spot in the rankings after Week 5! Great job to all of our Fitness Teams for getting those steps and being active! 3 Mifflinburg Area School District April 12, 2021 MIFFLINBURG ARCHERY TEAM HITTING THE TARGET The Mifflinburg Middle School Archery team capped off the season with a 3rd place finish in the 2021 NASP Pennsylvania State Tournament. The Mifflinburg Archery program is part of the National Archery in Schools Program. At the beginning of the school year, students signed up to become part the program. Our program topped out at 60 students. In February after practicing for several months, students earned a chance to participate in the state tournament. An archery team consists of 21 students who then shot a qualifying round, and the top 12 scores are used for a team score. A complete round is 30 shots: 15 from 10 meters and 15 from 15 meters. The best possible score is 300. The high scores for the Middle School Division: Boys - 288, Girls - 287 and the High School Division Boys - 295, Girls 294. Results for the 12 scoring archers: • Ben Reitz - Score 269 - 16th place in the Middle School Boys Division and 8th place in the 8th Grade Boys ranking • Aubrey Fluman - Score 268 - 12th place Middle School Girl Division 5th place in the 7th Grade Girls ranking, and 41st Overall Girls rankings • Mariah Hartman - Score 262 - 24th place Middle School Girl Division and 9th place in the 7th Grade Girls ranking • Reece Weikel - Score 257 - 40th place in the Middle School Boys Division and 7th place in the 6th Grade Boys ranking • Nicholas Lloyd - Score 255 - 44th place in the Middle School Boys Division and 24th place in the 8th Grade Boys ranking • Tiffany Hubler -Score 254 - 33rd place Middle School Girl Division and 15th place in the 8th Grade Girls ranking • Mason Morrison - Score 252 - 27th place in the 8th Grade Boys ranking • Natalee Edison - Score 249 - 12th place in the 7th Grade Girls ranking • Ethan Allen - Score 246 - 31st place in the 8th Grade Boys ranking • Savannah Kinser - Score 244 - 16th place in the 7th Grade Girls ranking • Kayla Winter - Score 239 - 26th place in the 8th Grade Girls ranking • Kamden Hockenbrock - Score 236 - 28th place in the 8th Grade Girls ranking Students from the high school also participated in the archery program. There were 2 shooters entered in the NASP Pennsylvania State tournament.
