Applicant Details Organisation: Halcombe Playcentre Contact person: Liz Huisman Email address: [email protected] Contact phone: 063288693 Postal address: 77 Willoughby St RD9 Halcombe 4779 Has the organisation applied for funding from Yes Council before? Please give details (description, amount email from Janine to Rebecca 23 July 2020 requested, year etc): The Halcombe Playgroup had applied to Council’s Community Development Fund for funding towards the cost of purchasing a shed and material. Unfortunately we were unable to support the application through this fund but Rebecca has agreed for it to be considered as part of the Long Term Plan process. She has asked me to forward to you the Playgroup’s application to see if you could input the data into the LTP application process on behalf of the Playgroup to save them from having to fill in another online form. I have advised the Playgroup that you might need to get in touch with them if you need further information as we were unsure whether the attached information would be suffice. Request Details What are you seeking funding for? Halcombe Playcentre’s Carpentry Shed 1 of 3 2 Please give a clear description of your Currently we have a number of children who request: love to create. There is a strong interest in carpentry and loose parts play, but our carpentry area is sad and run down. It is basically just a roll out workbench with no real space dedicated to this kind of play. We would love to make this area more usable for our tamariki by giving our budding builders a dedicated space to practice their craft, developing skills to help us further develop our outdoor area. If successful, the grant would be used to purchase a 1.9 x 2.4m cedar shed that would serve as storage for our carpentry and loose parts workbench, equipment and materials. Each session this would be open, with items rolled out onto a 4 x 4m platform, which would give us more space to safely conduct this type of play. Within this grant we are also requesting funding to purchase timber and other materials to build this platform. (For more info see support docs) How much is the total cost of the project, 4859.62 including GST?
