The Principal’s Report (2 pages)- Highlights the key activities, events, and successes of the past year and briefly describes major new initiatives to be undertaken over the next year. This is the pioneer college of higher education in a rural and tribal area in Balaghat district . It was started in 05 September 1989 in a primary school’s building . In 19/11/2011 with the announcement of Hon’ ble Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan this institute has got a new name as RANI DURGAVATI GOVT. COLLEGE PARASWADA . This college offers three under graduate courses including B.Sc. (Biology ), B.Sc. (Maths) and B.A. There are three post graduate courses in the college including History ,Hindi Lit. , Sociology . In current academic year (2017-18) six hundred thirteen students have been admitted in various programmes of studies . Five hundred sixty two students are undergoing various undergraduate degrees programmes in Arts and Science out of which 146 male and 426are females. Forty one students have been admitted in post graduate courses out of which seven male and 34 females . Institute is pursuing for the post graduate courses in science faculty . Some other activities are also performed in the college . A unit of N.S.S. is also available in college . Every year the college takes part in different activities of district and university level like Youth festival and sports activities. Cultural programmes are organised every year in the college to put forth the talent of the students Under the student support services the college has a library , different sports facilities , a women cell and anti raging cell etc . The college has very amicable atmosphere . The students pay great regards to the teachers . There is no problem of the discipline in the college campus . Parents / guardians of some students regularly keep in touch with the college for the progress of theirwards . Principal , administrative officers and the whole staff always take care of welfare of the college 2. Overview (1 page) (i) Vision, Mission and Objectives of the college Vision - “To pursue to be a centrum with academic standards which produces ‘3 H’ able human beings. Previously it has been started in a primary school’s building but in 19/11/2011 with the announcement of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh chouhan new faculty B.Sc.( Bio and Maths) and M.A. in three subjects ( History ,Hindi lit. , Sociology ) have been started . Rani Durgawati Govt. College Paraswada is situated in the remote area of Balaghat District. It is 68 Km. far from Balaghat. It is between Lamta and Baihar. It is located in the lap of nature. It is near to Kanha National Park [K.N.P.]. It is mainly a rural and tribal area . This institute has the largest ground in Balaghat district. Its campus is extended in 15 acre of government land. Despite of being in a rural and remote area this institute is pursuing continuously on the path of progress. This institute is the best example of ‘csVh cpkvks ] csVh i<kvks ’ Maximum students of this institute are girls . Presently the percentage is 75.04 of female students in this instutute . This institute has a large number of ST, OBC (non creamy ) students. In addition to the other activities like sports students of this college have shown their talent and excellent performance in various fields. In cricket four students have performed in university level and four in Kho – Kho in university and divisional level and out of which one student has performed in state level . In youth festival also the college has earned a good reputation. Students of this college have secured their position in the University level in different activities such as debate , clay modelling etc . (iii) History of the college with significant milestones This institute is named as ‘Rani Durgavati Govt.College Paraswada’. Previously it has been started in a primary school’s building but in 19/11/2011 with the announcement of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh chouhan new faculty B.Sc.( Bio and Maths) and M.A. in three subjects ( History ,Hindi lit. , Sociology ) have been started . As far as their educational qualifications are concerned one holds masters degree in her respective subject while three teaching staff members are Ph.D. holders . Besides this 12 guest faculty including 1librarian and 1 sport officer are working in the college. Out of them 1 is PhD ,7are M.Phil. 4 are NET qualified . The guest teaching are employed against the vacant posts . Conveyance allowance of rupees 275/-per period is given to the guest lecture under the scheme of DHE . The transition rate of the students in under graduate level in main examination varies from 46.62 to 49 (without – ATKT). In the percentage of completion of degree is 68.69 % . The transition rate of the students in post graduation level is 84.4% and the percentage of completion of degree at P.G. level is 84.4% . The data include all faculty Arts and Science . 3.
