CANCER SERVICES OF NORTHEAST INDIANA ♦ JULY 2014 ♦ VOL 71 ♦ ISSUE 2 2014 Lapper & Miss Fort Wayne, Miss Allen County and Miss Three Rivers Festival were at Lapper to meet and greet the walkers, and the Bishop Luers Dance Survivors Day Celebration Team gave everybody a happy surprise when they performed a dance routine to get the crowd ready. What an energizing way to start the walk! Participants ranged from babies in strollers to retirees in their late 70’s, and every age in between, all of them with the goal of supporting people with cancer in their community. All 11 counties that we serve were represented as well as several states. The morning ended with a Survivors Day Celebration where all were treated to food, music, and games for children. The Lapper was so successful it was nominated for a Fort Wayne Newspapers 2014 Reader's Choice Award for Favorite Local Charity Walk/Event!
