Karaoke .............................................................. 3 Volunteers Needed ............................................. 3 There will be two meeting a month in February, March, and April; some initiations to do, prepare the Caddy Save The Date ..................................................... 3 Raffle, finals for Hoop Shoot, Inter-Lodge Competition, Membership Dues Notice ................................... 3 the last two 300 Clubs, and of course the Monday Night Join us for Lunch ............................................... 3 Bingos. 300 Club Dinner ................................................. 3 Most important, is securing members to fill the Officers and Trustee chairs. You need to give Scholarship Program ......................................... 4 those serious thought. The Lodge can not function without the participation of its members. Paint ‘n Sip ......................................................... 4 There are less meetings now to attend. More members are helping so, you do not have to do more Caddy Raffle ....................................................... 4 than you want. You do not have to memorize parts, or attend every meeting if you have other commitments. Yes, it involves some time, but also presents self-gratification for doing something Feed The Community Volunteers ..................... 4 charitable and you will look good in a tux from time to time. Be brave and step-up for your lodge. Gratitude Grant ................................................. 5 Christmas Day was a huge success with the feeding of some 400 meals to members of the Volunteers Dinner .............................................. 5 community. Many, many thanks to Michelle Charron and the crew of Elks members that helped Old Timer’s Night .............................................. 5 her. I hesitate to name anyone, for I will surely miss someone. You know who you are as well as New Year’s Fun .................................................. 6 those with you; so, thank you for giving a part of your holiday to provide a kind act to others. This North District Hoop Shoot News ....................... 6 certainly showed the true spirit of Christmas! Dinner is Served ................................................. 7 We also had a great New Year’s Eve with a full house and a very good band with The Hitmen. February Birthdays ........................................... 7 There were many more people still there for the 11 o’clock toast than in the past few years. Lots of thanks to those that served and cleaned up. Our January 300 Club dinner had excellent Ribs and Beans prepared by Randy Lopes and Steve February Events Whitehouse. That process took nearly two days to prep. Membership Meetings Thursday, February 6th and 20th And our appreciation and thanks to Bryan and Angie Norris for once again running the Hoop Shoot at Hunt School and attending the North Districts in Newport with our six winners. Karaoke Burlington Lodge #916 had two boys and two girls out of Newport that will go to the state finals in Friday, February 7th Barre. Board of Directors Meeting Our Volunteer of the Month is a couple, Rick and Ruth Antone. They give double duty for the Tuesday, February 11th Tuesday and Friday dinners, and have for a couple of years. They not only work on my crew both nights, but also both nights with Moe’s crew coming all way in from near Lake Iroquois in 300 Club Dinner Williston. Recently, she had surgery and two days later was taking orders on a Friday night when Thursday, February 13th most people would be laying low. That is dedication! Members are welcome to the Board of Directors meeting on the SECOND Tuesday of month at 7 pm in the upstairs conference room. The Lodge Applications Committee meets the THIRD Tuesday of every month at 7 pm when there are members proposed. I can use the help for that time but I am also looking for one or two people to take over completely. Work is on the grill and the fryers and is easier with two people.
