Announcement Reuters: GALP.LS Bloomberg: GALP PL Lisbon, 14 February 2008 Galp Energia and Sonae Distribuição agree the assignment of Continente’s service stations network In accordance with the terms of article 248 of the Portuguese Securities Code, Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A. (“Galp Energia”) hereby discloses the following information: Galp Energia and Sonae Distribuição signed yesterday a retailer assignment agreement of several service stations of Continente’s network. With this agreement, Galp Energia will operate eight service stations, integrated in Continente’s hypermarket chain. These service stations were integrated in Continente’s chain after the acquisition of Carrefour Portugal, which was concluded in December 2007. This transaction is subject to the approval of the competent authorities. Galp Energia and Sonae Distribuição, two of the majors Portuguese corporate groups in their respective sector of activity, jointly explore Tangerina stores of Galp Energia’s network, formerly known as M24 stores. This partnership also includes cross promotions which allow customers from both companies to use competitive discounts in Galp Energia’s service stations and in Continente and Modelo’s hypermarkets. Sonae Distribuição, leader in the Portuguese retail market, had in 2006 consolidated turnover of €3.1 billion. Currently the company operates a chain of 611 stores, divided by 13 brands, totalizing 710,000 square metres of commercial space.
