Grupo 7C Racing Stable’s 3-year-old gelding, who became eli- gible for the Jewel while winning a claiming race for maidens at Gulfstream last March, is scheduled to use the Claiming Crown headliner as a prep for a planned start in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1) at Gulfstream Jan. 23. The Jewel, a mile-and-an-eighth stakes for 3-year-olds and older that started for a claiming price of $35,000 or lower, will be featured among nine stakes restricted to horses that have started for a claiming price at least once.
