CGIS Parent Reminders We are continually grateful for your patience and support as we have made adjustments to almost all of our processes this year. We are getting into a good routine but need your help in the following areas: • Please do not be on cell phones in the school zone areas. This is a Tennessee State Law, you can receive a citation if you are on your phone while driving in our school zones. • In the mornings before 7:05 am, please do not block the left lane. For student safety, students are only to be dropped off from the right lane until staff is present. • All car drivers need to yield at all crosswalks around the CGIS Campus. Please be especially vigilante coming in and out of our campus turning right on Sevierville Road. • In order to utilize our Hilltop entrance for CGIS, you need to register with Wendy Newton for pick up time slots. Please contact her via email at [email protected] in order to reserve your slot. • VERY IMPORTANT DEADLINE - For the next nine weeks, parents requesting a change of learning from traditional to digital or digital to traditional MUST communicate with Cheryl Hatcher at [email protected] by Wednesday, September 30th at noon. • Free Lunches for Digital Learners – If your family would like to utilize the free lunch program during this time and your student is a digital learner, please have your student come to school between 11:00 to 12:30 pm and have their temperature checked and sign in at the office. Parents must stay in the car while their student goes to the café to receive their free lunch. Finally, the student will exit the building through our front doors with their food. If you want to participate on a regular basis as a digital student, please email our cafeteria manager, Amanda Bailey, at [email protected] so we can plan accordingly. • Daily Health Checks - We will only be implementing temp checks on Thursdays for next week. We will continue to monitor our data and make adjustments as we go. We encourage all families to make a regular habit of checking temps at home in the mornings to help everyone stay as healthy as possible. Thank you for your support and partnership! School system employees and other adults entering the building for interaction will continue to have temperature screens. • Bus Mask Requirements - All students will be required to wear a face covering (mask or face shield) while riding a MCS bus. Masks will be provided if students do not have one. If a student refuses to wear a mask or face shield, the driver will notify school administration and parents will be notified. Medical exemptions will be accepted with a written statement from your physician stating the health compromises to wearing a mask or face shield while on the bus. This documentation must be brought to the office. For all approved exemptions, that student will be assigned to the front of bus and not in close proximity to other students not wearing a mask. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080D4DACAB23A02-cgis THANKFUL FOR YOUR CURIOUS WHAT LOOKING TO MAKES THE CHILD’S SHOW CGIS TEACHER?
