This name was formally registered in February 1977 and is the basis of our 40 years. Awabakal’s growth and development throughout this time has seen it become one of the largest Aboriginal community owned and run organisations in New South Wales and is a leading example of Aboriginal community power in Australia. On behalf of the entire community, we would like to thank and pay tribute to those who fought for and helped develop the organisation we have today.
