The Uganda Wildlife (National Parks) (Declaration) Instrument.1 (Under sections 17 and 18 of the Act.) 1. Citation. This Instrument may be cited as the Uganda Wildlife (National Parks) (Declaration) Instrument. 2. Boundaries of national parks. The areas contained within the boundaries specified in the Schedules to this Instrument are declared to be national parks. _____ 1This Instrument was made as an Order under the National Parks Act, 1964 Revision, Cap. 227, sections 3 and 4. It was saved by the Uganda Wildlife Statute, Statute 14/1996, section 94. SCHEDULES First Schedule. para. 2. Queen Elizabeth National Park. Commencing at the junction of the thalweg of the Ishasha River with the shore of Lake Edward; thence in a northeasterly direction following the shore of that lake to its junction with the southern bank of the Kazinga Channel; thence in a northerly direction across the mouth of that channel and continuing along the shore of Lake Edward to a cairn on the lakeshore to the north of Kitako Island in Katwe Bay (and including the islands in that bay); thence in a straight line in a northerly direction to concrete markstone number 3/9649 situated on the south side of the Mbarara-Kasindi road at approximately mile 91.7 from Mbarara; thence round the craters of Lake Munyanyange and Lake Katwe on a bearing of 311E00' for a distance of 703 feet approximately to concrete markstone number 3/9917; thence on a bearing of 359E36' for a distance of 1,008 feet approximately to concrete markstone number 9/1052; thence on a bearing of 330E11' for a distance of 718 feet approximately to concrete markstone number 9/1063; thence in a northerly direction following the thalweg of the Lubilia River, being the Uganda/Congo border, to its confluence with the Mpondwe River; thence on an approximate bearing of 136E for an approximate distance of 10-14 miles to a cairn situated approximately a quarter of a mile to the east of mile 97 from Mbarara on the Mbarara-Kasindi road; thence in a straight line in an easterly direction towards mile 97 till that line intersects the eastern side of the Mbarara-Kasindi road reserve; then in a southeasterly direction following the western side of the Mbarara-Kasindi road reserve to its intersection with the right bank of the Nyamugasani River; thence in a general northerly direction following the right bank of that river to its confluence with the Kanyampara River; thence in a straight line in a northeasterly direction to a cairn situated on the southern side of the Equator road reserve and at a distance of 5½ miles approximately from the junction of that road with Mbarara-Fort Portal road; thence in an easterly direction following the southern side of the Equator road reserve; then due east across the latter road to its eastern road reserve; thence in a northerly direction following the eastern side of the Mbarara-Fort Portal road reserve to a cairn approximately 1,400 yards south of the intersection of that road with the southern boundary of Muhokya Estate, Grant No. 25167; thence in a straight line in an easterly direction to the southeast corner of that estate; thence following the eastern boundary of this estate to its northeast corner; thence in a straight line in a northwesterly direction to a cairn situated on the eastern side of the Mbarara- Fort Portal road reserve at a distance of 700 yards approximately from the intersection of that road with the northern boundary of Muhokya Estate; thence in a northerly direction following the eastern side of the Mbarara-Fort Portal road reserve to its intersection with the Kasese town boundary; thence in a general easterly direction following that town boundary to its intersection with the southern side of the Kampala-Kasese railway reserve; thence in an easterly direction following the southern side of the Kasese- Kampala railway reserve (excluding an area of approximately 300 acres marked by cairn and used as a brickfield and quarry) to the foot of the Lake George escarpment; thence in a southerly direction following the foot of that escarpment to its intersection with the right bank of the Mpanga River; thence in an easterly direction following the right bank of that river to a point 100 yards above the waterfalls; thence across the river at right angles to that bank to its left bank; thence in a general westerly and southerly direction following the left bank of the river to its junction with the shore of Lake George; thence successively in a westerly, southerly and easterly direction following the shore of that lake to the northeast corner of Namukunga Estate, Grant No. G.25254; thence successively in a westerly, southerly, easterly and northeasterly direction following the boundary of that estate to its easternmost corner on the shore of Lake George; thence in a southerly direction following the shore of that lake to an unnumbered concrete markstone marking the northeast corner of the Uganda Fish Marketing Corporation plot; thence in a westerly direction following the northern boundary of that plot to its northwest corner; thence in a northeasterly direction following the western boundary of that plot to its intersection with the northern side of the Katwe-Kasenyi road reserve; thence in a westerly direction following the northern side of that road reserve to a cairn northwest of Lake Bunyampaka salt lake; thence in a southerly and easterly direction following the rim of that lake to the southern most point of the rim; thence in a straight line due east to the shore of Lake George; thence in a southerly direction following the shore of Lake George and due south across the mouth of the Kazinga Channel to the south bank of that channel (including the islands
