INFOCUS 106: SOCIAL JUSTICE Social Justice movements like Black Lives Matter have changed the way Americans think over the last several months. February is Black History Month, and we'll bring you opportunities to learn more about history and culture, as well as ways to get more involved in equity and diversity initiatives. We'll see how the Central Illinois and Springfield African American Museum is working, even amid COVID-19 restrictions, to tell the stories of African Americans. Explore the United Way of Illinois' 21-week Equity Challenge and learn how you can get involved. Southern Illinois University's new President put diversity and inclusion at the top of his priority list as he joined the system nearly a year ago. We'll check in on the changes being made, and what he hopes to see in the future. INFOCUS 105: RENEWAL January is traditionally a time of renewal and new starts. How does that apply to a global health crisis? We'll take a closer look at how new vaccines and treatments are changing the way healthcare professionals are caring for patients and working to keep others healthy. The New Year may also bring new rules that affect how we live and work. We'll explore what some of those options look like, and what you need to know as you make your own resolutions and plans. Please note: the proceedings may preempt several black history month was put on lockdown. This could have been a time to specials scheduled to air on WSIU Radio between Feb. 11-15 at 8pm.
