Michael, a garda, stationed in Navan and II member of the Fethard team for the past ten years, frequently makes the 160 mile journey home to play for his Club and train with his Colleagues. His commitment and dedication could be richly rewarded on Sunday next. Were you there? Fethard and Clonmel opened the second round in Kilcash with a match which had to be abandoned by reason of the high wind. In that year Fethard met Grangemockler in the Final. Tyrell shot a goal for Fethard which was disputed by the 'Mocklers, Getting no redress they walked off the field. Fethard 1.0 Grsflgemockler 0.2 year 1918. John Russell Anecdotes Before the formation of the G.A.A. in 1884 one of the earliest recorded matches was played in Hu rley's Field, Glen, Kilsheelan between teams from Kilcash and Kilro$santy, Co. Waterford. There were no goal-posts at that time and the game was played from ditch to ditch. Kjlcash won the game.
