We rvould love for people to see our historical post but more importantl'y for them to visit with our soldiers. We are very proud of them and I know our veterans are as well. U.S. Army Commanding Mr. Harold Peters 14030 Xanthus Avenue Rogers, MN 55374-9332 3 SECRETARY'S REPORT JULY 31, 1999 The fiscal year for the 24th Infantry Division Association is from August 1, to July 31st each year. The annual report to the Association will be based on the fiscal year. As of July 31, 1999 we had 3085 members on the rolls. We had 236 new members and were notified of 70 deaths that were forwarded to the Chaplain. In October we will be sending out past due letters to members who are in arrears. Those members who are still past due should be dropped from the rolls. 1610 PaYing AnnuallY 29 Associate Members Paying Annually 18 Associate Life Members I Associate Member Making Life Payments 77 Complimentary Members 1 Life Comp Member 789 Lifex($100) Members 469 Lifexx($l50) Members 90 Life Members Making Installment Payments 1 HonorarT Member 3085 Total Membership We sent out News Releases to evera member who paid their dues and asked them to notify their local newspapers that we are looking for anyone who served in the 24th Infantry Division. The response was overwhelming and we can attribute the increase of the new members to our dedicated members who so willingly took the time to see that this advertisement was placed in their local papers. We had 66 members who recruited new members and the top recruiter was Wally Kuhner with 27. Congratulations Wally! We appreciate all of you who recruited new members and it is great to know the 24th Infantry Division Association is alive and well. Every person who wrote for information on the Association was sent a letter, application form and a past edition of the Taro Leaf magazine. If the person returned the application form and payment of dues, they were sent a membership card, letter and current edition of the Taro Leaf. Our membership chairman, Wally Kuhner, has done a tremendous job following up on past due members and persons who had previously inquired information on the Association. 4 stiil be available for The 1999 RafIIe is already a tremendous success and tickets will 25 after the purchase at the reunion in Tulsa with the drawing on Saturday, September General MembershiP Meeting. and I as This past year has been a vely challenging and rewarding one for Carla countless hours your new SeiretaralTreasurer.
