WELSH ST DONATS COMMUNITY COUNCIL CYNGOR CYMUNED LLANDDWUDD www.welshstdonats.co.uk June 2020 Due to current events, the Community Council cancelled a meeting in April and the AGM in May, however we are exploring the possibility of holding a remote ordinary meeting, in line with guidance from Wales Audit and the Welsh Government. An agenda will be posted on the website and notice board in the bus shelter at Welsh St Donats. No date has been set yet, but please keep an eye on the website for details and let me know of any issues you would like raised so they can be added to the agenda. An AGM will held later in the year. In the meantime, the Community Council has been operating as it normally does between meetings. Councillors have submitted comments on the following planning applications received since our last meeting at the beginning of March: - 20/00223/FUL Glanffawydd, Heol y Mynydd, WSD, 20/00344/FUL Ton Yr Deryn, Welsh St Donats, 20/00323/FUL Crosslands, Welsh St Donats, 20/00361/FUL Ty Mynydd Farm Bryn y Ddafad, Welsh St Donats and 2019/01432/FUL Greenland Farm, A48 Bonvilston. Councillors have recently received notice of amended plans for the last application. Councillors also noted that the following applications were approved by Vale Council Planning Officers:- 20/00022/FUL Parc Newydd, Tair Onen, St Hilary, 20/00178/FUL 3 Heol y Mynydd, WSD and 20/00223/FUL Glanffawydd, Heol y Mynydd, WSD. Further details of these and all planning applications are on the Vale of Glamorgan Council website. Tree harvesting operations in Hensol Forest have been completed and Natural Resources Wales have informed us the paths in the Forest, closed in early March, have been re-opened. The Community Council also continues to report incidences of fly-tipping, problems with footpaths and stiles, and potholes to the relevant authorities. We have made payments to the contractor who is working single-handed to cut the grass in the Churchyard and various green areas in the Parish and to our insurance company to cover the next year. The accounts are being scrutinised by the internal auditor and an annual return prepared for the external auditor. The process has been changed slightly to fit in with current safety measures. As you can imagine, we have received a large amount of information from the Welsh Government and Vale Council about Covid related issues, these include measures put in place during lock down, advice as to how we should run the Community Council and guidance about keeping safe and well. You will find this information on the website which is frequently updated. If you have any concerns or queries you feel the Community Council may be able to assist you with, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Clerk or Community Councillors. We will do our very best to help you. Contact details are on the website. Victoria Pearce, Clerk. [email protected] 01446-774833 .
