Music on the Move – Free Live Concerts Across Rural Wiltshire

Music on the Move – Free live concerts across rural Wiltshire Wiltshire Rural Music are taking live concerts on the road across the county, with Wiltshire Mobile Libraries. The Trowbridge based music charity are following up on two highly successful days of "Music on the Move" earlier this year, with three more days of live music in October and November - bringing performers and music making opportunities to schools and isolated communities within rural Wiltshire. The three events will be completely free and the live music will take place along the routes of Wiltshire Council’s mobile library service, as it stops at various villages around the county. So why not pick up the latest thriller and enjoy some beautiful music! Gavin Osborn, Creative Director of Wiltshire Rural Music: "Music on the Move is such a fabulous way to bring the community together. We had people aged from 3 - 103 singing, dancing, playing instruments and enjoying live music in some of Wiltshire's more isolated communities. There were cello-violin duets in cul-de- sacs and at bus stops, flute and clarinet performances on village greens, and the lucky residents of Shrewton even got to hear and play the Mbira!” “A personal highlight was the visit to Colerne Primary, whose students played to us, folk danced, and heard a huge variety of traditional English instruments, all in the space of a short lunch break!” “Everyone loved Music on the Move and the opportunity it created, so it is a delight to be able to take it on the road again and to explore more rural areas within our beautiful county." On Tuesday 8th October professional musicians will perform in Kington St Michael, Sherston, Luckington, Stanton St Quintin and Derry Hill. On Friday 18th October Music on the Move will be in the south of the county, stopping at Winterbourne Earls, Boscombe/Allington, Newton Tony, Porton and East Gomeldon. And finally on Monday 25th November, the mobile library and live music will be visiting Spirthill, Hilmarton, Compton Bassett, Yatesbury, Cherhill, Stockley and Heddington.
