Governors—All About Me—John Gardener I joined the Governing Body as a parent Gov- ernor around three years ago when both our daughters were at Tibberton. The girls have now moved onto Middle School but I contin- ue as Vice Chair of Governors. I am the chair of the Teaching & Learning Committee. In my day job I work as a Senior Lecturer at the University where I teach in the Business School. Alongside the teaching , I also look after International partnerships. This nor- mally involves several trips overseas each year but the problems of this year has cer- tainly reduced my Air Miles! In my spare time I enjoy walking and can often be seen trundling along the lanes around the village. I am also a long suffering supporter of Plym- outh Argyle Football club! Congratulations to all our children who received Headteacher, Doodle. & Value Awards A very big Thank you from ‘The Friends’ The Smarties Challenge was a huge success. We are excited to announce we had a final total of 55 tubes returned and an amazing amount of £347 raised. Wow! Thank you so much everybody for your ongoing support, the children must have worked very hard to raise this incredible amount. These funds will go toward any equipment school needs for the children, paying for the coaches on school trips and organising fun educational days at school to name but a few. If you have had a sort out then you can drop the below items off and help raise money for Tibberton CE First School. The items collected are weighed and we receive a cheque for what we have collected. All the money goes towards the children at school. WHAT WE COLLECT: We accept the following ‘good quality’ items for RE-USE*: • Men’s, Ladies’ and Children’s clothing • Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around) • Handbags • Hats • Bags • Scarves and ties • Jewellery • Lingerie • Socks • Belts • Soft toys • Household linen • Household curtains • Household towels • Household bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers) * We reserve the right to refuse any unsuitable items We DO NOT accept: • Duvets and blankets • Pillows and cushions • Carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats) • Soiled, painted, ripped or wet clothing • School uniforms with and without logo • Corporate clothing and workwear • Textile off cuts, yarns or threaded material Please place your donations in a tied black bag and drop off at the village hall.
