The scam, as shown in a print screen below, tells users that their computer may be at risk and tells them to call a helpline which looks like a legitimate telephone number. Either the helpline links to a telephone number with a ludicrously inflated call rate or callers are asked for security details, which scammers can use to gain access to bank accounts. People who are less Internet savvy are more likely to fall victim to the scam Good News Oldham Police Cadets Our Police cadets are continuing to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Recently they went on a practice weekend to The Anderton Centre in Chorley. PCSO Sue Hoyle and Gary Bingham accompanied them. The main skill they were looking to develop was team working, in order to show this they completed tasks including map reading/orienteering supervised and then finding their own way between checkpoints, tent construction and cooking made from rations.
