Plagued by antisemitism and with the threat of the Nazi party looming ever closer, John's parents arranged for their boys to be evacuated on a train set up by Sir Nicholas Winton. Both of the boys travelled through war torn Europe as unaccompanied child refugees to finally settle in England.
