The four people are Akesh Srivastava, Anand Bharti, Abhijeet Raushan of the 2nd year and Chandra Prakash of the 3rd year, all students of the ME Department. Their journey took them through 3 rounds of the competition before they ended up finishing second in the competition. In his room, Akesh Srivastava sounds about as far off from a super achiever as he can but then, mod- esty comes with greatness. His words give us an insight into a mentality now geared towards achiev- ing more and learning as much as possible from the experience. Times Adda Discusses Campus Issues The setting sun, the cool spring breeze, the stone-hedged circular Adda zone behind the much loved R&D Section of our college and the sudden attack of a flight of mosquitoes. Everything was much appreciated, and, well, tolerated, as THT conducted the Times Adda with some of our very own from all the academic years. The students were asked to express their views on the recent ob- servations of student involved violence in colleges all over the county which degenerate into a sce- nario of violence and chaos. The possible steps that need to be taken to prevent such happenings and ways to channelize the energy of the students positively were the few topics pondered on. Faiz: First of all, whatever happens at any institution happens because of some reason. No two de- batable incidents occur due to the same reason. Like the reasons here are something, at JU it’s something and at JNU, it’s something entirely different. Sometimes, these occur under political influ- ences as well. Usually, it is considered that politics is an old man’s game, but ever since the youth joined forces, the parties’ youth wings in colleges started dragging the student mass into political diplomacy. Also, The Central University Act, 2009 declares that the Govt, cannot involve itself in insti- tutional matters. So if this political influence is eradicated, then the percentage of such mishaps might decrease.
