DSU travels to Livingston, Ala., on Thursday, Feb. 21 to take on the West Alabama Tigers. DSU will then make the trip to Georgia to for date with the NONCONFERENCE University of West Georgia Wolves on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Lady Statesmen knocked off UWA 58-32, and held on for a 65-54 11/12/2012 Selma University W, 99-37 victory over the UWG, earlier this season. The 32 points allowed agaisnt UWA were the lowest total allowed by DSU since holding West 11/16/2012 vs. Clayton State University L, 51-68 Georgia to 31 in a 67-31 win on December 4, 2010 11/17/2012 vs. Brevard College W, 87-72 w Delta State, who owns the league record with 15 conference championships, continues league play with an amazing 674-136 GSC record. 11/20/2012 Tuskegee University W, 72-53 w Delta State enters this week second in the GSC in scoring at 65.4 points per game and boast the second best field goal percentage 11/23/2012 Stillman College W, 90-54 with a 40.9 average. The Lady Statesmen have topped 90 points twice, including wins over Selma (99-37) and Stillman (90-54). 12/1/2012 Christian Brothers University* W, 60-50 w The Lady Statesmen have been a defense-first program for the last 10 years and coach Midlick has kept the tradition rolling this season, 12/15/2012 @ Stillman College W, 64-37 as DSU is allowing opponents 55.1 points per game, which leads in the GSC. 12/17/2012 @ Tuskegee University L, 61-65 w Freshman guard Chelsey Rhodes is making an immediate impact on the Lady Statesmen this season. The Monticello, Ark., native is 12/29/2012 @ Ouachita Baptist University L, 72-75 averaging 11.7points per game, which is good for 11th in the GSC. She also leads the GSC in 3-point FG% at 42.7 percent on 38-of-89 3-pointers made. Rhodes had two of her best games last week versus Shorter and UAH, as she posted 16 and 17 points respectively GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE w Junior guard Brooke Rhodes has turned her scoring average up in GSC play, as the Pelahatchie, Miss., native is averaging 9.0 points per 1/3/2013 @ Union University (Tenn.)* W, 77-67 game, which ranks 20th in the GSC. She is also pulling down a career-high 5.1 rebounds per game for the Lady Statesmen. 1/5/2013 University of North Alabama* L, 58-59 w Sophomore center Seneca Walton leads the Lady Statesmen in scoring (13.5) and rebounds (8.1) per game this season. The Clarksdale, 1/10/2013 @ Shorter University* W, 65-59 Miss., native is currently eighth in the GSC in scoring and fourth in rebounding, including a 23 rebound performance versus West Alabama on Jan. 17, which was the third most in DSU history in a GSC game. 1/12/2013 @ University of Alabama in Huntsville* L, 64-69 w Sophomore forward Rhandi Ball has become a major scoring threat for DSU this season. The Ponotoc, Miss., native, who was named the 1/17/2013 University of West Alabama* W, 58-32 GSC Freshman of the Year last season, is averaging a career-high 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this year. Ball scored a career high 1/19/2013 University of West Georgia* W, 65-54 21 points in the 52-48 win over Valdosta State.
