Midfield Moorestown, NJ 2 2021 UConn Women's Lacrosse Game Notes 2021 BIG EAST awards 2021 BIG EAST TOURNAMENT BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year 2021 - at Georgetown Sydney Watson, Sr. (unanimous) Semifinal: No. 2 UConn 15 -- No. 3 Georgetown 13 Senior Sydney Watson and junior Lia LaPrise combined to score nine goals with two assists to lead the Huskies into the BIG EAST Championship game with a 15-13 win over Georgetown. BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year The Huskies returned to the BIG EAST title game for the second time in program history and UConn the first time since 2015. LaPrise scored four of her game-high five goals in the second half as the Huskies erased a 6-5 halftime deficit with 10 goals over the final 30 minutes en route to the semifinal win. Watson finished with four goals and a dominant force on draws, winning 11 draw All-BIG EAST First Team controls as the Huskies held a 19-11 advantage over the Hoyas.
