Both sets of work, outlined below, should prove beneficial to our neighbours as they will help us continue to keep control of odour. Of course, we have the next liaison group meeting on Tuesday 3 November, so we will be able to talk in more detail then about what has been completed and what is still underway. First set of works To make sure we continue to capture as much gas as possible we plan to install up to nine additional gas extraction wells. A drilling rig will be delivered to site shortly and is likely to be utilised from Tuesday 27th October with works continuing until around 6 November. Working with CLP, SUEZ’s local gas contractor, the infrastructure will be connected to the site’s gas extraction infrastructure. Ideally, any additional well started will be completed that same day and connected. If this is not possible then any well in progress will be securely sealed and dealt with at the next available opportunity. The installation of this additional infrastructure may give rise to a temporary short term increase in risk of odour release, however we will be vigilant and take steps to minimise this as far as we can. Second set of works We will be undertaking further capping works from Monday 2 November. This will be in the Phase 4 area where we will be attending to an area of 10,000m2. The whole programme will take around seven weeks, with an estimated completion date of 18 December. As these works will only just have started by the time we meet again, we can share more detail then and answer any questions you may have. Next meeting of the Liaison Group: In terms of the agenda for the next meeting, as usual we will be meeting at 5.30pm and we will cover: Welcome and apologies; the review of previous minutes, SUEZ Operational Update; Gas wells and capping works update, Environment Agency Update, Questions and answers not already covered during the meeting and any other business. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
