Charles Prober 1967 Stanford Law Professor distinguished career in business, Thompson entered civic politics. As Mayor of Winnipeg, she managed a city budget of $1.2 billion and more than 10,000 employees. She led Winnipeg through major flooding when the city faced what became known as the `Flood of the Century' in 1997. Susan Thompson 1967 After her term as Mayor, she was appointed Canadian Consul General in Minneapolis, where she served an eight-state territory consisting of 15 million people and $32 billion in Canada- US trade. She returned to Winnipeg in 2003 to assume the role as founding President and CEO of The University of Winnipeg Foundation. Just prior to Thompson's retirement, the Foundation Leslie Sisler 1970 Former University of Winnipeg Collegiate Associate Dean Margaret Sweatman 1971 Author, Playwriter Mr. Richardson has an extensive background in the investment industry, beginning as a financial analyst with Richardson Securities of Canada in 1977. He assumed various roles in Sales & Marketing in the early 1980s, and was appointed Senior Vice-President and Director Royden Richardson 1972 of Marketing in 1986. In 1990, Mr. Richardson took a senior role within the Investment Baning Division of Richardson Greenshields of Canada Limited, and became Vice-Chairman in 1995. Following the sale of Richardson Greenshields in the fall of 1996, Mr. Richardson registered as a Senior Counseling Officer and Portfolio Manager with the Ontario and Manitoba Securities Commissions. In 2003, he joined FairLane Asset Management Limited as Managing Director, as well as the Board of Directors of Richardson Partners Financial Limited. Sherri Walsh 1978 Lawyer Halter is a graduate of The University of Winnipeg and The Collegiate (Coll ’81, BA ’84), as is Reese Halter 1981 his father, Aubrey J. Halter (Coll ’36,BA ’40). He founded Global Forest Science, an international charitable forest research foundation, and is now a world leader in forest science and conservation with an international team of over 165 scientists.
