Consideration and passing of the Wakf (Amendment) Bill, 2011, as passed by Lok Sabha and as reported by Select Committee of Rajya Sabha. ——— 2 No. 50867 Legislative Section Reference of a Question of Privilege to the Committee of Privileges of Rajya Sabha Members are informed that the Chairman, Rajya Sabha has referred a question of breach of privilege arising out of the complaint of Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar, Member, Rajya Sabha regarding inability to participate in the debate on a Private Members’ Resolution due to adjournment of the House by disruptions caused by some Members, to the Committee of Privileges under rule 203 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Council of States for examination, investigation and report. ——— No. 50868 Bill Office Reference of the Bill to the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee Members are informed that the Speaker, Lok Sabha, in consultation with the Chairman, Rajya Sabha, has referred the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Amendment Bill, 2013, as introduced in the Rajya Sabha and pending therein, to the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour, for examination and report within three months. ——— No. 50869 G.A. Section Unveiling the statue of Shri N.T. Rama Rao in Parliament House. A function to unveil the statue of Shri N.T. Rama Rao will be held on Tuesday, the 7th May, 2013 at 1030 hours in Waiting Hall No.6, near Building Gate No. 12, Parliament House. Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha will unveil the statue. Members are cordially invited to attend the function. ——— 3 No. 50870 General Research Unit Availability of Reference Notes to Members General Research Unit, LARRDIS, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, has prepared the following Reference Notes in English: i) Financial Inclusiveness : Direct Cash Transfer Initiative; ii) Foreign Direct Investment in Multi-brand Retail; and iii) The Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2011. Members may kindly obtain a copy each of the above Reference Notes from the Publications Counter, Rajya Sabha. Hindi versions of the same are also available. ——— No. 50871 Training Cell “Refresher Course in IT skills” for Members of Rajya Sabha and their personal staff. A Refresher Course in IT skills is being organized by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, in collaboration with the NIC, from 6th to 10th May 2013 in two sessions daily in Room No. FB 15, G-Block, Parliament Library Building, as under: (i) The morning session: from 10:30 A.M to 1:00 P.M. for the personal staff of Members; and (ii) The evening session: from 2:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. for the Members of Rajya Sabha. 2. Officers/Engineers from NIC will impart training on Basic Computer Applications and also familiarize the Members and their personal staff with features of the Rajya Sabha Website, and other Government Websites and also sort out operational/technical difficulties being faced by them in accessing the internet or any other computer related matters. 3. Members are requested to avail of this facility. 4. Members may also depute their personal staff for the morning training sessions. Members are requested to give their personal staff, so deputed, the authorization letters to that effect. Personal staff who do not have entry passes 4 may be advised to approach the PLB Reception with the authorization letters to facilitate their entry. In case of any difficulty, Training Cell, Room No. 228A, 2nd Floor, Parliament House Annexe (Tel. 23034248) may be contacted. ——— No. 50872 Conference & Protocol Section Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 A function to confer the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 on Shri Arun Jaitley, MP (Rajya Sabha); Dr. Karan Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha) and Shri Sharad Yadav, MP (Lok Sabha), respectively will be held on Thursday, the 9th May, 2013 at 1815 hours in the Central Hall, Parliament House, New Delhi. Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India has kindly consented to present the Awards. Shri Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Hon’ble Vice-President of India & Chairman, Rajya Sabha; Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister and Smt. Meira Kumar, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha will also address the distinguished gathering on the occasion. As part of the celebrations to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Parliament of India, which is coming to a close on 12 May, 2013, it has also been decided to felicitate two Members of First Lok Sabha, Shri Kamal Singh and Shri Surya Prasad during the function as they could not attend the same last year. Members are cordially invited to attend the function and requested to occupy their seats in the Central Hall by 1800 hours. Members are also requested to join for tea in the Lawns between Central Hall and Gate No. 9, Parliament House after the function. ——— No. 50873 Conference & Protocol Section Visit of Parliamentary Delegation from Maldives to India Members are informed that a Parliamentary Delegation from Maldives led by H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, Speaker of the People’s Majlis (Parliament) of Maldives is scheduled to visit India from 4th to 8th May, 2013. 5 The delegation will witness the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour on Monday, the 6th May, 2013 from the Special Box. Besides Delhi, the Parliamentary Delegation from Maldives will visit Agra during their stay in India. ——— No. 50874 Simultaneous Interpretation Service Avoiding Disturbance in the sound system It has been observed that some Hon. Members do not turn off the volume knob of their earphones while leaving their seats, which causes disturbance in the sound system in the House. Hon.
