..........................................................................69 3 INTRODUCTION The School of Music Undergraduate Student Handbook is not designed to supplant the various university catalogs or handbooks, but rather seeks to amplify certain sections of these publications and expand upon curricular matters related specifically to music study. This handbook is revised during the summer of each year, and is as current as possible, regarding official School of Music policies and procedures. The policies and procedures stated in the current School of Music Undergraduate Student Handbook are binding for all music students during the academic year designated on the cover of the document, regardless of the student’s entry year. Students must follow their entry year JMU Undergraduate Catalog for all music and non-music curricular requirements. All substitutions, waivers, and exceptions must have the approval of the student’s advisor and the school Director. The School of Music Undergraduate Student Handbook is distributed electronically to all music majors and faculty at the beginning of each fall semester. Undergraduate music majors are expected to attend an informational meeting usually scheduled during
