These do not need to be in number order. • Do not duplicate any numbers. • Please list up to 15 alternatives. These may be in preferential order. • Please print your name and address in BLOCK CAPITALS. • Give your e-mail address and tick the box if you would like notification when your spores have been posted. • We now have a new BPS leaflet “Growing ferns from spores - A basic practical guide”. If you would like to receive a copy then please tick the corresponding box on the form. • Members in the USA should read the additional notes overleaf concerning import permits. No payment is required – this service is free to BPS members We will try to send out orders speedily starting about two weeks after the list is issued. Before inclusion names have been reviewed using: The Plant List http://www.theplantlist.org and PteridoWiki http://www.fernforum.net . On the first occasion where a new name is used for a taxa, we are including the old name alongside for information. Cultivars may not come true and should be labelled accordingly. Plant Hardiness Zones. The list includes, where possible, plant hardiness zone numbers for North America and Europe. These are mainly collated from ‘The Encylopedia of Garden Ferns’ by Sue Olsen, Timber Press, 2007, ISBN 978-0-88192-8198 and ‘The Plantfinders Guide to Garden Ferns’ by M H Rickard, David and Charles/Timber Press, ISBN 0 71,53 1,536-6, by kind permission of the authors. About Donations. We accept spores on the basis that they have been legally acquired and that they can be freely distributed through our exchange with no restrictions as to their use. Donations of fresh spores to replenish stocks are welcome at any time, ideally sent to us as soon after harvesting as possible. To be sure of inclusion in the 2015 list, they should be sent before the end of November. Donors will get priority treatment and can request up to 10 extra packets. Osmunda Spores. Owing to the short period of the viability of green spores these are not included in this list. For many years Matt Busby has organised a separate distribution of such spores but, from this year, we will be taking over this role. This means developing a rapid route between members who have ripe spores and those who would like to receive them. At this stage we simply want you to tell us which Osmunda spores you would be interested in obtaining and/or any you may be able to donate, using the boxes below. Obviously, noting that you may have ripe spores available later in the season does not commit you to providing them! When we know what spores are requested we will contact any potential donors to let them know of the interest. When ripe, spores can then be sent to us for distribution.
