LETTER FROM THE BOARD To all our Field Hockey Canada community members, players and supporters of this wonderful and challenging sport: Field Hockey Canada is responsible for the growth and development of our sport from grassroots to high performance. Known throughout the rest of the world as simply ‘hockey,’ Canada has a strong World Cup and Olympic hockey tradition. At home, Field Hockey Canada is proud of our diverse and inclusive community - one comprised of strong clubs and provinces throughout and across the country. 2018-2019 has proved to be one of the most daunting yet exciting of a series of challenges for the national sport leadership group, both Men‘s and Women’s National Team athletes, federal, provincial and club partners. Despite significant financial commitments and fundraising targets for both Men’s and Women’s National Teams, Pan American Games’ Silver medals were achieved by each team and a further opportunity for Olympic qualification. As Board Chair, I look forward to leading and providing the governance required to bring success at all levels and in all areas of our sport. Hopefully this annual report gives you some perspective to the amazing work our organization is doing and the challenges that are set in front of us.
