DAY 1: WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 2019 • Arrive in Athens; private coach (if using group air) to Central Athens for opportunity to explore on your own. • Lunch on your own. • 4:00PM: Private coach escort to Port of Piraeus; High Speed Ferry bound for Syros at 5:30PM; private coach escort to hotel upon arrival in Syros. DAY 2: THURSDAY, JULY 11, 2019 • Breakfast. • 9:30AM to 11:30AM: First rehearsal in residency hotel. • Independent exploration of island; or take scheduled bus to Ermoupoli, tour Apollo Theater, and 12-Euro three-course dinner at one of the participating tavernas (optional). • Return to hotel. DAY 3: FRIDAY, JULY 12, 2019 • Breakfast. • 9:30AM to 11:30AM: Rehearsal in residency hotel. • Lunch on your own. • Late afternoon: Bus transfer to Xroussa for acoustic check. • Evening: Solo a cappella concert at the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in Xroussa. • Return to hotel. DAY 4: SATURDAY, JULY 13, 2019 • Breakfast. • 8:45AM to 12:30PM: Rehearsal in residency hotel. • 3:00PM to 6:00PM: Fully staged final dress rehearsal of opera performance. • Explore Capitol Building and open market. • 8:00PM: Concert of solo and duet performances by Greek Opera Studio artist members in Megaron Café. • Return to hotel. DAY 5: SUNDAY, JULY 14, 2019 • Breakfast and free morning. • Late afternoon: Dress rehearsal with orchestra and soloists. • Evening Festival Opening Concert in Apollo Theater - Peter Tiboris, conductor. • Return to hotel. DAY 6: MONDAY, JULY 15, 2019 • Breakfast and free morning. • Afternoon: Repeat concert in Saint Nicholas Cathedral - Peter Tiboris, conductor. • Remainder of day is free. DAY 9: THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2019 • Breakfast. • Afternoon dress rehearsal in Apollo Theater with orchestra, soloists, lighting, and sound system. • 6:00PM: Acoustic check in Plateia. • 8:30PM: Choral Gala Concert in Plateia or Apollo Theater featuring the Continuo Arts Symphonic Chorus with the Pan-European Philharmonia - Candace Wicke, conductor. • Return to hotel. DAY 10: FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2019 • Breakfast and free morning and afternoon. • 4:00PM: Transfer to Saint Nicholas Cathedral for acoustic check. • Dinner on your own. • 6:00PM: “Sacred Music in a Sacred Place” Sunset Series performance at Saint Nicholas Cathedral. • 8:30PM: Attend Symphonic Concert in the Apollo Theater. • Return to hotel. DAY 11: SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2019 • Breakfast and free morning and afternoon. • 8:30PM: Repeat concert in Apollo Theater (same as July 14 and 15 concert) - Peter Tiboris, conductor. • Return to hotel. DAY 12: SUNDAY, JULY 21, 2019 • Breakfast and free day at leisure. DAY 13: MONDAY, JULY 22, 2019 – RETURN TO ATHENS • Breakfast and free morning. • Check out of hotel; coach bus to Port of Syros for 4:00PM ferry to Athens; busses to final farewell dinner upon arrival. • Return to hotel. DAY 14: TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2019 – FINAL DAY: Athens City Tour • Breakfast. • Morning: Bus tour of Athens to see principal sights such as the Temple of Zeus, the Acropolis, the Parthenon, etc. • Remainder of day is free. • Optional tour (at additional cost; details and costs will be announced on April 1, 2019) of Gulf of Corinth and Saint Paul’s Corinth upon arrival at Port of Piraeus. This dollar amount is computed based on the dollar purchase exchange rate for that day, which is published at the end of the business day in all newspapers. Please note that MidAm will add “.1” to the total published bank rate to cover dollar to euro wire and transfer costs as well as any and all bank commissions charged by our European Bank (Alpha Bank). From this point forward, the dollar amount for this program will remain unchanged, regardless of whether the dollar weakens or strengthens for the remainder of your payment deposits. This tour is priced in EUROS because all travel services in Europe are paid in EUROS, not dollars, to the providers. All deposits are non-refundable when paid. Non-refundable monies are non-transferrable to the unpaid balance of the account if one cancels participation; name substitutions for cancelled persons, however, are permitted. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New York with respect to any dispute arising out of this agreement. Note: A valid passport is required to enter Greece. If you are a U.S. citizen, a Visa is not required. If you are not a U.S. citizen, check with your Embassy about entry requirements into Greece. LAND PACKAGE INCLUSIONS (arrive Athens July 10 / depart Athens July 24) 1. Fourteen (14) nights total: Syros (12 nights) and Athens (2 nights), double occupancy. The cost per person is €2,195 based on double occupancy. Single supplement is additional. Triple rooms are occasionally available, and the cost per person is the same as double room occupancy (€2,195 per person). 2. Ferry tickets to Syros (July 10) and from Syros (July 22) to Athens. 3. Package includes all local taxes, gratuities (15%), and Greek Value Added Tax (VAT) of 23%. Not included is the “Island Hop” to Mykonos and the tour of Corinth. 4. Buffet breakfast daily (14 total). 5. One grand finale dinner in Athens at a “bouzouki” restaurant with stage floor show (July 22). 6. Private AC coach bus transfers within Athens and Syros (including airport transfers when using group air). 7. MidAm manages all travel details within Greece with Ulysses Travel. Bilingual escorts will be present on busses to and from all locations. 8. Complimentary professional photographs and DVDs (sent to director). 9. Complimentary ticket to Symphony Night at the Apollo Theater and to see the opera production. 10. Participation in the opening concert in the Apollo Theater with conductor Peter Tiboris, guest soloists, and the Pan-European Philharmonia on July 14; a repeat performance at Saint Nicholas Cathedral on July 15; and a final repeat performance on July 21 in the Apollo Theater. 11. A choral gala concert in the Apollo Theater or Saint Nicholas Cathedral featuring the Continuo Arts Symphonic Choir and conductor Candace Wicke with the Pan-European Philharmonia on July 18. 12. One solo a cappella concert in Saint Nicholas Cathedral (6:00PM on July 19) as part of the “Sacred Music in a Sacred Place” Sunset Series of sacred music only. 13. One solo a cappella concert in the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in the village of Xroussa (evening of July 12). 14. Complimentary entrance to Sunset Concerts at Saint Nicholas Cathedral – if you are not performing in the Sunset Concert scheduled for July 19 at 6:00PM. 15. Assistance with booking international flight ticket to and from Athens when requested. 16. Guided tour of general Athens, the Acropolis, and Parthenon with licensed professional guide (July 23).
