Hotel Safety Your Safety Is Our First Concern HOTEL SAFE DEPOSIT BOX Available in every guest room. MEDICAL In case of a medical emergency, call 9-911. For non-urgent medical concerns, please dial 0 for the hotel operator. The hotel operator will alert the appropriate personnel. SMOKE DETECTORS Each room is equipped with a smoke detector, hard-wired into a central power and alarm system. This device should remain operational at all times. The red light on the smoke detector should blink every minute or so. If the red light is not blinking, please notify the Front Desk. If your smoke alarm should sound, look for fire or smoke. If there is a fire, dial 0 to report it to the operator, then leave following the exit map on the door. If it appears to be steam from a hot shower, open your window and dial 0 to inform the hotel operator. Please do not attempt to silence the alarm yourself. We will send appropriate personnel to assist you. EVACUATION ALARM It is unlikely that evacuation of the building should become necessary. However, evacuation routes have been planned and tested for use, in case the need should arise. Should the evacuation alarm ever sound, feel the doors for heat before you open them. If they are cool, inch the door open, looking for smoke. If there is no smoke outside, exit according to the map on your door, checking fire exit doors the same way. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR If your exit is blocked, go back to your room; it’s the safest place for you. Dial 0 and tell the operator your room number and the number of people with you. Stuff door cracks and vents with wet cloth, do not open windows, but do open your drapes. Stay on the floor and remain calm. Management and maintenance personnel will respond. POWER OUTAGE On rare occasions, unusual weather conditions may cause temporary power outages. All hallways, exit stairwells, and public areas are equipped with emergency lighting which automatically turns on in the event of a power outage. The backup generator will power the lobby and various areas. Please dial 0 for reassurance or any assistance needed..
