Place in recycling bin. Clear, brown and green glass bottles and jars. Aluminum, steel and tin beverage and Bottles food containers. Plastic beverage and laundry containers with a #1 PETE or a #2 HDPE & Cans recycling symbol. Remove plastic caps and throw in trash. Rinse containers and place in recycling bin. }Use a Bin – NOT a Bag. Recycling must be placed loose in a recycling bin – NOT in a bag. SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING allows you to MIX loose bottles, cans, paper and small flat cardboard TOGETHER in the SAME recycling bin. Recycling must be kept separate from trash. New Brunswick Recycling Guidelines: Missed Recycling? Please Call 732-745-4170 or go to www.middlesexcountynj.gov for more information. Do NOT pour cooking oil or grease into your sink. Put used cooking oil/grease into a container and bring to a Middlesex County recycling facility, or let it solidify, seal it and place inside your household trash container. 2021 TRASH Collection Information Trash will NOT be collected TRASH COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS on the following holidays: Residents must place trash curbside after New Year’s Day 5:00 pm the night before their scheduled Friday, January 1, 2021 collection day (refer to map on page 1). Martin Luther King Jr. Day Up to 3 trash containers or bags will be collected Monday, January 18, 2021 collected for each residential unit each day. Presidents’ Day Trash cans cannot be larger than 32 gallons or Monday, February 15, 2021 heavier than 50 pounds. Memorial Day Monday, May 31, 2021 Trash bags must be a minimum of 13 gallon Independence Day capacity, no heavier than 50 pounds, and tied Saturday, July 3, 2021 to prevent litter. Labor Day Residents are encouraged to place tied trash bags inside trash cans. Monday, September 6, 2021 Columbus Day All items must be placed on the curb in front of your property. Monday, October 11, 2021 Residents cannot place out demolition or construction Veteran’s Day material unless they first obtain permission from Thursday, November 11, 2021 the Director of Public Works. Thanksgiving Day All policies will be strictly enforced. Thursday, November 25, 2021 Christmas Day Recycling is mandatory in the State of New Jersey Saturday, December 25, 2021 and at no time are you permitted to place recyclables in the trash or place trash in a recycling container. If your trash collection day falls on the above dates, you can place double the amount of household trash If this occurs, the material will not be collected.
