SXSW - A Destination for Unexpected Discovery SXSW Music Festival Announces Full Artist List, Notable Panels and Panelists Austin, Texas - March 8, 2018 - Every March the global music community journeys to the South by Southwest® Music Festival (SXSW®) in Austin, Texas for seven days and nights of music discovery, networking and the opportunity to share ideas. To help manage this endeavor, SXSW is pleased to release the full list of 1,982 artists scheduled to perform at the 32nd edition of the SXSW Music Festival taking place Monday, March 12 - Sunday, March 18, 2018. The SXSW Music Opening Party, which offers a strong sample of the talent and diversity that SXSW has to offer, will take place on Tuesday, March 13 at The Main & The Main II from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. This year’s lineup includes Superchunk, Bad Gyal, Pussy Riot, Lali Puna, Starcrawler, and Boy Harsher. A celebration of the life and music of the legendary Blaze Foley will be presented on Friday, March 16 at 9:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. This tribute performance follows the screening of the Ethan Hawke co-written and directed film BLAZE. It features musical performances by The Texas Gentlemen alongside Ben Dickey, Gurf Morlix, Alynda Segarra (Hurray for the Riff Raff), Nikki Lane, and JT Van Zandt.
