Media Release Thursday, April 14, 2016 Canadian Pop-Punk Band Gob Featured at the 2016 LaSalle Strawberry Festival The LaSalle Strawberry Festival Committee is proud to announce that the featured act taking the stage on Friday, June 10 will be Canadian pop-punk band Gob. Over the course of their career, which dates back to 1993 and includes a catalogue of seven LPs, the members of Gob - vocalist/guitarist Tom Thacker, vocalist/guitarist Theo Goutzinakis, drummer Gabe Mantle, and bassist Steven Fairweather - have established themselves as Canadian pop punk pioneers. They've amassed JUNO nominations, made massively popular music videos for singles like "I Hear You Calling" and "Give Up The Grudge," and kept legions of loyal fans entertained at countless venues - from bars to major festival stages the world over. "We are looking forward to a great celebration in LaSalle at this year's Strawberry Festival," said Terry Fink, Director of Culture and Recreation. "There are still more announcements to come as details are finalized." This is the LaSalle Strawberry Festival's 29th year. The four-day event takes place June 9-12 at Gil Maure Park featuring pageants, a carnival, fireworks over the Detroit River, parade, entertainment and local strawberries. Canadian artist Steven Page, formerly of Barenaked Ladies, takes the stage on June 11. Admission is $5 per person at the gate (children under 6 and seniors over 65 are free), or weekend passes are $12 per person.
