UWE OBERG & SILKE EBERHARD TURNS Uwe Oberg piano Silke Eberhard alto saxophone, clarinet Silke Eberhard and Uwe Oberg play compositions by Carla Bley, Annette Peacock, Jimmy Giuffre and originals. Music related to Paul Bley: perhaps a homage. Musical trails has been left and small revolutions triggered. Oberg & Eberhard take them up and lead them without sentimentality to today. SILKE EBERHARD *1972 Alto saxophonist and clarinetist Silke Eberhard has studied at the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin, followed by David Liebman´s masterclass in the USA, and the Jazz Workshop + Residency at the Banff Centre of the Arts in Canada. In 2004/2005 she was a guest-professor at the Ponitificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá in Colombia. Besides her longstanding Trio with Jan Roder on bass and Kay Lübke on drums, current projects are the Duo OCA with pianist Aki Takase and Potsa Lotsa – a lineup of horns, play the complete compositions of Eric Dolphy. She has performed and/or recorded with musicians such as Ulrich Gumpert, David Liebman, Johannes Bauer, Sabine Worthmann, Günter Baby Sommer, Dave Burrell, Gerry Hemingway, Petra Krumphuber, Alex Huber, Michael Zerang, Louis Rastig, Niko Meinhold, Antonis Anissegos, Terry Lyne Carrington, Hannes Zerbe, Olaf Rupp, NeWt Trio a.m.o. Eberhard has also been involved in interdisciplinary projects, especially in combination with theater or dance. She has toured Europe, Middle East, North Africa, USA, Canada, Colombia, Brasil, Japan and China. “Her mastery of both instruments is impressive, but so is her take on music: it is fun, it is light- footed, rhythmically and structurally complex, emotional and technically superb.” (Freejazz Stef) UWE OBERG *1962, piano since 1970, member of the Kooperative New Jazz (ARTist) Wiesbaden, active since the early 80ies in various fields from conceptual Jazz/New Music to free improvisation, performances with dance/theatre/lyrics, music for silent movies, HumaNoise Congress, cooperation with international musicians: ALFRED HARTH, TONY OXLEY, PETER KOWALD, URS LEIMGRUBER, SAADET TÜRKÖZ, HEINZ SAUER, SUBROTO ROY CHOWDHURY, XU FENGXIA, SVEN-AKE JOHANSSON, RUDI MAHALL, PAUL LOVENS, EVAN PARKER, ERIC PLANDÉ, PAUL ROGERS a.m.o. He leads the trio LACY POOL (w Rudi Mahall & Michael Griener) playing exclusively the music of Steve Lacy. Also he plays in various improvising ensembles, such as CUSH w Saadet Türköz and Paul Lovens. In 2004 he has been invited to the Darmstadt Workshop for New Music and the Warzaw Autumn.
