Arapahoe County Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Coffman for Aurora Mayor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Alan Philp September 5, 2019 (303) 332-6539 Arapahoe County Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Coffman for Aurora Mayor (AURORA, CO) – Today, the Arapahoe County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 31 announced in a letter its endorsement of Mike Coffman for Aurora Mayor, citing Coffman's commitment to public safety and to working with law enforcement. “We believe your experience, roots and dedication uniquely equip you to make a difference for Aurora on the issues facing our city,” said Jason Presley, President of the Arapahoe FOP, Lodge 31, in the endorsement letter released today. The Arapahoe County FOP, Lodge 31, is made up of law enforcement personnel from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department. The Arapahoe County part of Aurora is the largest service area, in terms of population, for the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department, so the membership of the Arapahoe County FOP has a significant interest in who will be the next Mayor of the City of Aurora. “We need a Mayor who is committed to working with law enforcement to reduce crime and protect our schools and neighborhoods. We believe you are that candidate, and we look forward to working with you to take Aurora’s public safety to the next level," wrote Presley. The Arapahoe County FOP, Lodge 31, is a local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, the largest law enforcement union in the nation, with over 346,000 members nationally. Arapahoe County, Lodge 31, joins Aurora’s FOP, Lodge 49, which recently also endorsed Coffman. “The Fraternal Order of Police strongly encourages Aurora voters to support Mike Coffman for Aurora Mayor,” concluded Presley in his endorsement letter. Coffman grew up in Aurora, started an Aurora small business that he owned for 17 years, and represented Aurora in the State House of Representatives, the State Senate, and most recently, in the U.S. House of Representatives. Coffman also served as the Colorado State Treasurer and the Secretary of State before being elected to Congress. Coffman is a combat veteran who served in both the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps. - 30 - Paid for by Mike for Mayor | www.MikeforAuroraMayor.com .
