Highland Park, Utah / American Fork HS 5 COACHING STAFF AVERY ANDERSON Director of Track & Field and Cross Country 2nd Season at UCLA 8th Season overall UCLA track and field alumnus Avery Anderson was named the new Director of Track and Field and Cross Country by UCLA Athletics on July 6, 2017. As Director, Anderson oversees all aspects of the planning, development, and administration of the track and field and cross country programs at UCLA. In his first year at the helm, he led the Bruins to a fifth-place finish on the men’s side and a 12th-place finish on the women’s side at the NCAA West Regionals in Seattle, Wash. The men went on finish 21st as a team at the NCAA Championships. Anderson returned to his alma mater after spending nearly 20 years coaching at the NCAA Division I level.
