Au Cameroun, les chercheurs du Centre pour la recherche forestière internationale sont en train de repérer des données scientifiques pour prouver qu’une production ligneuse durable dans les forêts exploitées par des entreprises privées ou par des communautés locales, permettrait d’augmenter les stocks de carbone, réduisant ainsi les émissions de gaz à effet de serre, qui contribuent au réchauffement global. La 18e session de la Conférence des Parties à la Convention-cadre des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques (COP 18) a ouvert ses portes la semaine dernière à Doha et sera au travail jusqu’au 7 décembre.
