SEC Assignment in Kosovo , 2016 Assignment No. 2847 Location Peja, Kosovo Client Beekeeping equipment and honeybee products Expert Peter Gallmann, retired director of Swiss Bee Research Centre Period 20.06. - 02.07.2016 The company is a family business with activities in beekeeping equipment and honeybee products. The parents and owner of the company are beekeepers themselves. Two sons and 4 employees are working in the Profile production hall and the attached shop. They produce mainly honey and wax foundations and they already did some first developments of bee products Client for medical care. They approached SEC for support in Apitherapy knowledge. General knowledge on apitherapy and corresponding products: - Apitherapy as Naturopathy: history, development, effect of bee products - Legal limits and possibilities Tasks - The products in detail, application, production, quality issues - Procurement of quality raw materials, ie the inclusion of beekeepers We discussed future business options and the plans for a new factory. Based on my presentations we considered all possible apitherapy products based on honey, pollen, beebread, propolis, wax, royal jelly, bee venom, hive air and others. Thereby we encountered some problems in the Results surrounding, especially kind of beekeeping and nature of farming. At the end, we produced a summery of our discussion and we pointed on which the future work will focus in a first, second and third step. .
