Under Deiros, the team earned the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Regular Season Conference Championship, the 2012 Conference Tournament Championship, a 2012 NCAA Regional appear- ance and the program’s first ever DI NCAA Tournament win over #5 Florida. Deiros also guided the 2009 team to a top-30 ranking in the NCAA. In nine years in Division I, the team has finished 3rd or higher in Conference play in all but two seasons. Deiros is also the former head coach at 1998 Florida State Runner-up Lely High School in Naples and the founding head coach at 1999 District Champion/2001 Regional Runner-up Gulf Coast High School in Naples. Assistant Coach Erika Bennett: Erika concluded her second season as pitching coach for the Eagles. In her first season, she led the pitching staff to a 32 win season and Riley Randolph to the ASUN Pitcher of the Year award. Bennett won a NJCAA National Title with Miami Dade College and then went on the pitch for Marshall University. She currently competes for the Mexican National Team. Assistant Coach Lindsey Ubrun: Lindsey begins her second season as an assistant working with the Eagle hitters. She comes to FGCU with six years of Division I coaching experience at UT-Chattanooga and Iowa State. Ubrun graduated from the University of Missouri, becoming an NFCA All-American in 2009 and competing for Mizzou at the Women’s Col- lege World Series.
